Andy Murray is now just two wins away from winning his third title in a row in this year’s Asian swing, after beating Matthew Ebden in the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Rolex Masters (6-3, 6-2). The in-form Brit was fairly content with his performance, though despite getting the match finished in straight sets he felt he could have done better.

"I feel like I can play better,” admitted Murray after the match. “I served well so far. But I think I can hit the ball a bit better from the back of the court. And, like I said a few days ago, it's different conditions to the last couple of weeks. Maybe still adjusting a bit."

Murray has now won his last thirteen matches, and has moved to a 52-11 match record for the season. His recent form bodes well ahead of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, which he’ll be playing in front of a supportive crowd.

Murray will be in action again on Saturday against Kei Nishikori in the semi-finals.
