Andy Murray will replace Roger Federer as the world No. 3 if he can beat David Ferrer in Sunday’s Shanghai Masters finalYou can watch and bet on the action from the ATP Shanghai Open at bet365Andy Murray maintained his impressive winning streak on Saturday, thrashing Kei Nishikori 6-3, 6-0 in the semi-finals of this year’s Shanghai Masters. The in-form Brit needed less than an hour to get past Nishikori, and he should be well rested ahead of his meeting with David Ferrer in Sunday’s final.
Murray will take over from Roger Federer as No. 3 in the ATP world rankings if he can beat Ferrer, which would take Federer out of the top three for the first time in over eight years.
"It would be nice to finish the year off No. 3 if I can because that would be the highest ranking I finished at," stated Murray after his semi-final. "It's not the ultimate goal, but it's a step in the right direction... I can't really finish as the No. 2 or 1. So it's just a goal I had for the end of the month."
