Milos Raonic plays Mardy Fish on day one of the AAMI Kooyong Classic on Wednesday.
Raonic annouced himself to the tennis world last February as the next big thing on the ATP Tour. The Canadian's progress stalled later in the year as a result of injury but he's now back on song and looking extremely dangerous heading into the Australian Open.
In case you missed it, Raonic stormed to his second career title in Chennai last week, defeating world number nine Janko Tipsarevic in a thrilling three setter, clobbering an incredible 35 aces in total in the match.
With those sort of serving stats, no one will want to face him in Melbourne and he has a chance this week to test himself against some of the leading contenders at this exclusive eight-player exhibition event.
Fish will not be happy with this draw. The American opted for a low key start to the year, playing the Hopman Cup in Perth but he was soundly outplayed by Tomas Berdych in straight sets.
He faces a further confidence blow today as Raonic beat him twice last year - 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in Memphis and then 7-5, 6-4 in Indian Wells.
Prediction: Raonic in two.
