Michael Berrer will take on Ante Pavic on Thursday for a place in the quarter-finals of the ATP Bratislava ChallengerYou can watch and bet on the ATP Bratislava Challenger live for free at bet365 > live tennisFormer world No. 42 Michael Berrer could make a real impact in this week’s Bratislava Challenger, provided he’s at his best. The German should have a fairly straightforward path to the quarter-finals, as he’s been drawn against Croatian underdog Ante Pavic in round two.
Despite being the seventh seed, Berrer was handed a tricky first round clash against Igor Andreev. He managed to overcome the challenge of the Russian on Wednesday, despite losing a second set tie-breaker (6-4, 6-7(5), 6-2).
Pavic worked his way into round two by securing a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Berrer’s comptariot, Peter Torebko. Having finished off the match in just over an hour, the 22 year-old should be feeling fresh and ready to take on the world No. 106.
Pavic will be eager to rise to the occasion, but Berrer should have the upper hand. A straight sets win seems likely. Pavic will probably be out of his depth against Berrer, but it will be interesting to see if he can cause the 31 year-old some problems.
