Juan Carlos Ferrero faces Horacio Zeballos in the second round of the Mercedes Cup.

Ferrero enjoyed a brilliant start to 2010 on the South American circuit, winning titles in Brazil and Argentina and making the Acapulco final. However when the tour headed to Europe, Ferrero’s form dried up and a third round showing at Roland Garros was as good as it got.  
He will be hoping to pick up some points over the next couple of weeks before the tour heads to the States.

Argentine leftie Zeballos is ranked 43 in the world but did not far particularly well on the red clay of Europe earlier this year. He had more success in the States, reaching the semis on the green clay of Houston.

Zeballos defeated Andreas Beck 6-4, 7-5 in round one.

This will be an interesting match between two out of form players but you have to fancy Ferrero to pull through.
