Oudin has been pretty steady in the last few months on tour.

Melanie Oudin made her entrance into big time tennis at the 2009 US Open and she's been kind of silent on tour ever since that time.

However America's 18 year old tennis star is now ranked 31st on tour and that puts her near the bubble for a seed at the 2010 French Open.  After crashing out of the Australian Open far too early for her liking, Oudin has since been fairly well.

She made the semifinals in Paris in February (l. to Elena Dementieva) and took down 200 ranking points for her efforts.  More recently Oudin made the quarters in Charleston in April (l. to Vera Zvonereva) and that earned her 120 ranking points.  Those are quite meaningful totals for players outside the top and as a result Oudin is now almost in the top 30 on tour.

With the French Open looming, not a great deal can be expected of Oudin.  She has only contested one French Open so far and that was in 2009 where she lost in straight sets to one Zuzana Ondraskova 6-0, 6-1.  Currently individual odds on Oudin are tough to come by for the 2010 French Open which basically means that when they do get offered she'll be something like +20000 (200/1).

Bodog have currently have Justine Henin at +175 (7/4) and that is our recommendation for the women's draw as some sportsbooks are shortening her price.
