Marco Chiudinelli will take on Mischa Zverev on Friday in the quarter-finals of the Geneva Challenger

After overcoming the notable threat of Olivier Rochus in round one, he eased past Sergei Bubka (6-3, 6-0) to set up a quarter-final clash with Germany’s Mischa Zverev.
Zverev has not enjoyed a successful season, but as a qualifier he’s making good progress here. He also hasn’t dropped a set this week, and after playing well in Eckental as well, it looks like he might have turned a corner. He’s got enough talent to win this event, though performances throughout 2011 suggest that he’ll fall short.
This will be the first competitive meeting between Chiudinelli and Zverev, and it’s hard to predict how the contest will pan out. Chiudinelli appears to be the favourite but Zverev shouldn’t be ruled out just yet.
