Lucie Hradecka is set to take on Eva Birnerova on Tuesday in the first round of the POLI-FABRE Budapest Grand PrixYou can watch and bet on the action from the WTA Budapest Open at bet365Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic enters this year’s POLI-FABRE Budapest Grand Prix as the fourth seed, and will be hoping to make a lengthy run this week. Ranked just inside the top fifty, Hradecka appears to be one of the most capable players in the draw here, and could be in with a good chance of clinching her first WTA title of the season.
Hradecka’s first round opponent will be world No. 127 Eva Birnerova. Birnerova is a former world No. 59, and might just be able to put up a good fight if she makes a good start to the match. Birnerova hasn’t been particularly competitive outside of ITF events though, and it looks like Hradecka will have the upper hand against her lower ranked compatriot.
Hradecka currently holds a 2-1 head to head record against Birnerova. Birnerova beat the current world No. 42 back in 2003 on carpet in Opole, though Hradecka has since clinched two clay court successes against her (2004- Biella, 2010- Mestre).
