Hewitt arrives at Wimbledon in form after winning the Halle title in stunning style, ending a run of 15 straight defeats to Roger Federer in the final. It was a result which showed that anyone writing off Hewitt as a force in the majors, should think again.
The Aussie is in his element at SW19. Champion back in 2002, he has never failed to reach at least the last 16 since 2003 and last year he came agonizingly close to putting out Andy Roddick in a five set quarter-final epic.

Hewitt should have few problems against Argentina’s Maximo Gonzalez, a player ranked 188 in the world. Gonzalez is an out and out clay-courter and having decided to compete in clay challengers for the past couple of weeks, this is likely to be his first and only match on grass of the year.
