Former champion Lleyton Hewitt will be up against Argentine outsider Brian Dabul in the second round of the SAP Open

Lleyton Hewitt entered the SAP Open as the seventh seed, though many will feel that he has the ability to be one of the main contenders for this week’s competition. He won this event back in 2002, and still stands out as one of the biggest names in the draw. He faces Brian Dabul in round two, and will be expected to earn a berth in the quarters if he plays to his usual standard.

Hewitt breezed through his first round clash with Bjorn Phau in straight sets, claiming a 6-3, 6-3 victory. Dabul also made light work of his first round opponent. The Argentine had been tipped to struggle against Alejandro Falla, but produced a solid display to clinch a 6-4, 6-3 success.

Hewitt has never faced Dabul prior to this match, but is considered to be the favourite. Dabul is aiming to get back amongst the top hundred, and a win here would help his cause significantly. Whilst Dabul will be eager to cause an upset, Hewitt is playing well at the moment, and should be able to emerge from this tie unscathed.
