Petra Kvitova achieved a superb victory over Caroline Wozniacki on Thursday at the WTA ChampionshipsYou can watch and bet on the action from the WTA Championships at bet365Petra Kvitova is a serious force on indoor courts, so her impressive start at the WTA Championships shouldn’t come as a surprise. Even so, the manner of her 6-4, 6-2 win against world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki on Thursday was perhaps a little unexpected. The young Czech looks to be a real title contender here in Istanbul.
"Of course she's a great player," said Wozniacki of her opponent. “She won Wimbledon, she has a good serve, she has heavy strokes. She hits the ball very strong. I went out there, I tried my best, but I couldn't do what I wanted to do. It's what happens. Petra played well."
"Because she has such heavy shots and such a good serve, it helps to play indoors because there's no distractions, nothing. But at the same time, I like to play indoors as well. Growing up I was playing indoors most of the time. It's nice not to think about the Sun or the wind when you're playing."
Following the victory, Kvitova is now through to the semi-finals. Victoria Azarenka also secured qualification on Thursday.
