Lleyton Hewitt, Tomas Berdych and many more are starring at this week's AAMI Kooyong Classic.

The Kooyong Classic is a hub of tennis history, sited at the former home of the Australian Open. Now it hosts one of the major warm-up events for the opening slam of the year.

The exhibition event regularly attracts the world's top stars after a spot of extra match practise ahead of Melbourne. Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Andy Roddick and many more have all competed at Kooyong in recent years.

World number six Tomas Berdych headlines this year's field. The 2010 Wimbledon quarter-finalist will be hoping to fine-tune his game after a disappointing semi-final loss in Chennai last week.

Nikolay Davydenko looked red hot in Doha, tearing apart an admittedly off colour Rafael Nadal but it was still an impressive effort from the Russian to make the final and he will quietly fancy his chances of making an impact in Melbourne.

The same goes for Lleyton Hewitt, looking sharp again after recovering from injury. Hewitt may no longer be a threat against the top three in the world over five sets but on his day, anyone else is fair game.

Mikhail Youzhny enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career in 2010 as did Jurgen Melzer who stunned everyone by making the semi-finals at Roland Garros.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga completes the field, also on his comeback from injury. Still shaking off the rust, Tsonga is very excited to be down under again, the scene of the best performances of his career.
