The 2012 AAMI Kooyong Classic gets underway on January 11th with three members of the world's top ten in action.
As ever, there's a star-studded line-up assembling in Kooyong for the annual pre-Australian Open exhibition tournament. It's tough to pick a winner with most of the field in superb form so it should prove for an exciting and unpredictable week.
French duo Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils are heading to Kooyong fresh from contesting the Doha final. Tsonga clinched the title but Monfils enjoyed one of the best wins of his career in the semis, beating Rafa Nadal.
Tomas Berdych helped the Czech Republic to win the Hopman Cup title last week and the world number six cruised through all four of his singles matches, crushing Mardy Fish in straight sets in one of them. Fish is also in the Kooyong draw and the world number eight will be hoping for the chance to gain revenge though he's never been at his best down under.
The Aussie crowd will be getting firmly behind teenager Bernard Tomic who has his eyes set on cracking the top 10 this year. Tomic made a bright start to 2012, making the Brisbane semis last week.
Don't count out Milos Raonic who was serving bombs on his way to the Chennai Open title last week and few will relish facing the Canadian. And finally, former world number one Andy Roddick and Jurgen Melzer complete the field.
