Kimiko Date-Krumm, a wild card this year, played her first match at Wimbledon in 1989 against Zina Garrison.

The last time Kimiko Date-Krumm won a match in the main draw of Wimbledon she beat Mary Pierce 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 in the 1996 quarterfinals.  In the match previous to that she beat the great Conchita Martinez, the 3 seed that year.

Months after losing to none other than Steffi Graf in the 1996 Wimbledon semis, Date-Krumm retired and stayed there for more than a decade.  Now the former semifinalist, who also made the quarters of Wimbledon in 1995, has drawn young sharp shooter Caroline Wozniacki, born in 1990 and fresh off a title.

The match promises to be great with Date-Krumm being able to boast that she was playing tennis long before Wozniacki was even born.

Date-Krumm has little chance to win but any hope at all can be found in how she battled Kaia Kanepi at the Australian Open this year, before losing in a tough 3rd set.

Bet365 price Date-Krum as a underdog of 10/1 odds while Wozniacki is 1/33.
