Kim Clijsters takes on Bethanie Mattek-Sands in round two at the Rogers Cup.

Clijsters is coming to Montreal on the back of her triumph in Cincinnati at the weekend where she saved three match points to defeat Maria Sharapova in the final. With Sharapova resting this week and many of the other leading players either out of form or injured, Clijsters is hot favourite to make it back to back tournament wins.

Last year she reached the third round of the Rogers Cup before losing a tight three setter to Jelena Jankovic.

Flamboyant American Mattek-Sands is ranked just outside the top 100 and made it through qualifying this week for the first time since Wimbledon. It will be a major shock if she troubles Clijsters.
