Kim Clijsters will open up Court Philippe Chatrier on Thursday from Roland Garros as the world number two faces a young Dutch talent in Arantxa Rus. Their match is scheduled to start at 11am CET with Clijsters, a two time finalist at Roland Garros, a clear favorite to win (ie

Rus, of the Netherlands, is a young and improving player who promises to do a lot more damage on tour in the Grand Slams to come. Still just twenty years old the 5'11" Rus will be looking to book her first trip to the third round of any Slam however Clijsters should prove to be much too big of a hurdle to get over at this point.
Rus is currently ranked just 114th in the world and she was fortunate to have a soft draw through the first round of the French that saw her face a player ranked well outside of the top 150. Despite the easy draw, Rus still struggled somewhat as she dropped a set before advancing in three.
It's hard to picture the young player being adequately prepared to face Clijsters on Thursday and the Belgian should be through to face either Chanelle Scheepers or Maria Kirilenko in a third round match this weekend.
