Justine Henin meets Klara Zakopalova in round two of the French Open

Justine Henin progressed to the second round of the French Open on Tuesday after a 6-4, 6-3 win aginst Tsvetana Pironkova. Henin didn’t have everything her way on Tuesday, but played well and dealt with Pironkova’s powerful groundstrokes in an accomplished manner.

Henin has managed to work her way back into twenty-second in the world rankings following her comeback, and this year’s French Open may elevate her ranking considerably if things work out for her. She has a 36-4 match record at Roland Garros, and has won this title four times, so it would be a surprise if she doesn’t at least make the later stages.

Henin’s opponent today is Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic. Zakopalova is currently ranked seventy-ninth in the world, and has had a fairly average season so far. Zakopalova was tested in round one against Katarina Srebotnik, but battled through for a 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 victory.

Zakopalova and Henin have never faced each other in a WTA Tour match, so there are no previous matches available to benefit predictions. However, this should be an easy one to guess, as Henin is one of the best, if not the best, clay court players on the Tour, and should win today in straight sets.
