Justine Henin and Elena Dementieva collide in a blockbuster clash in the Miami second round.

It is an exact repeat of the Australian Open where they met at this stage in a thrilling night match which left both players physically and mentally drained. Henin somehow came through 7-5, 7-6 but looked on the verge of collapse at the end and it took so much out of her that she nearly crashed out a round later.

Will the same happen again ?  Henin has a little bit of an advantage having already got a match under her belt, beating Jill Craybas 6-2, 6-2 earlier this week. Dementieva has had little success against the Belgian throughout her career, winning just two of their twelve matches.

Dementieva was the one who showed better form in Indian Wells. Since Australia she’s won a title in Paris and made another final in Kuala Lumpur so had some good form going into the desert. She will have been a little disappointed with her 6-4, 6-3 loss to Radwanska in the quarters.
