Henin cruised into the final with a crushing 6-2, 6-2 win over Romania’s Alexandra Dulgheru. There has been the sense all week that Henin has just been moving through the gears and she produced a classy performance to seal her place.
Petkovic’s ruined hopes of an all-Belgian final by defeating Kirsten Flipkens 6-7, 7-6, 6-4. Flipkens is very experienced on grass and went in with confidence having not previously lost a set this week but the powerful German produced the kind of tennis which had enabled her to see off Ana Ivanovic in round two.
