Justine Henin begins her quest for the elusive Wimbledon title against Anastasija Sevastova.

The time has come for Justine Henin. The Belgian has made no secret of the fact that her return to the tour was fuelled by a desire to win the one slam which has eluded her so far, Wimbledon.
Henin has had two near-misses, firstly in 2001 where she lost to Venus Williams at the peak of her powers and then in 2006 when she went in hot favourite against Amelie Mauresmo but it slipped away from her in three sets.
Henin could hardly have hoped for a better week’s preparation. Opting against joining the super-strong Eastbourne field she stormed to the Unicef Open title in Holland, not dropping a set until the final.
This will be her first match against 20 year old Sevastova but the Latvian’s grass-court record should not give her too much cause for alarm – she lost in the first round of Wimbledon last year and opted against playing any warm-up events on grass this time round.
