Henin suffered a partially ruptured ligament in her left elbow in a bad fall during the first set of her Wimbledon fourth round clash against Kim Clijsters.

Henin had been in complete control but hampered by the injury, she went on to lose 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 and announced soon afterwards that it would definitely keep her out of the US Open.
She hopes to begin light training again in mid-October but by then the season will be drawing to a close and Henin has decided to focus all her efforts on getting ready for the start of 2011.

Henin will begin next year down under with the Hopman Cup. She will have high hopes at the Australian Open, having made the final at the start of 2010 in just her second tournament back from retirement.
