Jurgen Melzer plays Rik de Voest in the second round of the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur.
Melzer enjoyed a superb 2010, reaching a career high of 11 in the rankings but the Austrian's attention has shifted largely to his doubles career this season which has taken off. After winning the Wimbledon crown with Philipp Petzschner last year, the duo triumphed at the US Open a few weeks ago.
However it's been at the expense of his singles game. Melzer has still managed to hold down a position in the top 25, but that could change soon as he has a sizeable amount of points to defend this autumn.
He needs a good week in Kuala Lumpur and he should get a decent start as De Voest has never been ranked inside the top 100 and at the age of 31, time is running out for the South African. He's been struggling to make the main draws of ATP events this summer but qualified for the Malaysian Open before beating Ryan Sweeting earlier this week.
Prediction: Melzer in two.
