Julio Silva will take on Gastao Elias on Saturday in the semi-finals of this year’s Buenos Aires ChallengerYou can watch and bet on the ATP Buenos Aires Challenger live for free at bet365 > live tennisJulio Silva is making a superb run in this year’s Buenos Aires Challenger, and he’s already upset the odds to reach the final four. After a notable second round success against No. 2 seed Rui Machado (6-4, 6-0), the experienced Brazilian went on to edge past Wayne Odesnik of America in a close fought quarter-final (7-6(5), 6-4).
Silva’s next match will take place on Saturday. He’s scheduled to meet Gastao Elias of Portugal, who came back from a set down to beat compatriot and sixth seed Frederico Gil (1-6, 7-5, 7-5). Gil will surely be cursing his luck, having won seven more points than Elias over the duration of their almost three-hour long clash.
Silva seems the likely victor here after beating Elias on three occasions already this season. Whilst these weren’t easy wins, Silva didn’t lose a set in any of the three contests. Unless Elias can produce a big performance, the Brazilian will get a shot at winning the competition on Sunday.
