World No. 35 Julia Goerges narrowly missed out on a seeding for this year’s WTA Miami Open, and has been given a tough first round draw against Melanie Oudin. The German could prove to be a dangerous floater in this year’s draw, and might earn the chance to challenge Caroline Wozniacki if she can achieve a run of results here.

Oudin is the world No. 75, and stands out as a threat to some of the higher ranked players. The 19 year old has a bright future in the game, and could give Goerges a real test here. That said, she’s made a slow start to the season, and is yet to achieve back-to-back victories this year.

Goerges and Oudin have never previously met in WTA competition, making this match a little tougher to predict. On current form, Goerges looks like the favourite, though there’s a chance that Oudin will raise her game here.
