Del Potro is priced long at +1000 with Stan James.

Roger Federer's odds have been budging in the last few days for the upcoming French Open as the key players for the Grand Slam are mostly idle.

Those looking to back Federer sooner than later should be registering with Bodog sportsbook as they are offering the best price on Federer to win the French at this time (+300; 3/1).

Here are the other favorites at this point along with where to find their best prices:

1. Rafael Nadal -175, 4/7; Bodog
2. Federer (also +300 with Stan James)
3. Juan Martin Del Potro +1000, 10/1;
Stan James
4. Novak Djokovic +1100, 11/1; Bodog
5. Andrew Murray +2200, 22/1; Bodog
6. Nikolay Davydenko +3000, 30/1; Stan James
7. Fernando Verdasco +4000, 40/1; Stan James
8. Robin Soderling +5000, 50/1; Blue Square

You can't be too happy about betting Nadal at -175 especially since he withdrew from Barcelona.  The odds are just too short against a field of 127 other players and they are not worth it.  Nadal may never be 100% for a long period of time again and his body and nagging injuries might take its toll in the fortnight from France.

If you have faith in Nadal you are probably better off betting him to win in straight sets with a set betting feature for each of his first three matches as they will be against non-seeds or low seeds.  Save your bankroll for that time and keep the money off of Nadal in the outright winner's market at this time.  If you are betting him against advice, then Bodog is where you need to go as some other sportsbooks nearly have him at -300 already.

At this point the prices on Del Potro and Soderling look the most alluring.  Del Potro, many may have forgotten, was a close shave for winning the 2009 French Open as he took Roger Federer to a 5th set in the semis.  Had Del Potro won that set, he likely would have beaten Soderling in the final much like Federer did and you have to like backing the Argentine at 10 to 1.

Verdasco is an afterthought at this point as he is having a solid clay court season so far but he has never been to a Grand Slam final before.  You could easily picture Verdasco falling to a fourth rounder like David Ferrer (+6600; bet365) or Juan Carlos Ferrero (+6600; bet365), or even Philipp Kohlschreiber (+50000; Boylesports).

Our first recommendation at this point is Del Potro as his potential to win in Paris is actually immense provided that he is 100% and driven.  You're advised to keep your betting to a sprinkle at this point as there is a chance you could get burned by a withdrawal or injury however.
