This week's combined men's and women's event from Eastbournge, the AEGON International, features top seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in action today against Radek Stepanek.
The 2011 AEGON International continues on Wednesday with a schedule that includes a match involving the top seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Tsonga will face Radek Stepanek in what could be one of the more competitive matches of the day.
Tsonga enters the match as the favorite as he made the final at the recently completed Queen's Club tournament and came pretty close to winning the title outright
(Tsonga 1/3, Stepanek 9/4; bet365). Only Andy Murray stopped the French player in his tracks and unless Tsonga is fatigued, Stepanek should have his hands full on Wednesday.
Tsonga and Stepanek have met just twice before on tour with Tsonga winning both matches. Neither of those matches were played recently however (from 2009 and 2008) and neither match was on grass (carpet, hard) but they did take place at a time when Stepanek was a more feared player than he is now.
The 32 year old is having difficulty staying in the top 50 as his ranking is currently at world number 57. The match looks to be on Tsonga's racket with starting details as follows:
