Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Juan Martin Del Potro will face off in this highly-anticipated French Open match on Monday afternoon. A spot in the Roland Garros quarterfinals is up for grabs.

An already exciting showdown between Tsonga and Del Potro garnered even more spice when Rafael Nadal left the competition yesterday. The winner of Tsonga vs Del Potro will not only reach the quarterfinals, but he will also have a realistic chance to win their first French Open title.

Tsonga and Del Potro have met twice in their careers, Del Potro vs Tsonga currently stands at 2-0 to Del Potro, with the French man never having beaten Del Potro.

The world No. 5 Del Potro has been in stellar form this season regardless of the surface, reaching at least the quarterfinals in eight of nine tournaments, including a title in Auckland and a quarterfinal appearance at the Australian Open.
 
So far in Paris, the 20-year-old Argentine has dispatched Michael Llodra, Viktor Troicki, and Igor Andreev; all without losing a set.

Tsonga has been equally impressive this season. He owns an impressive 31-8 match record and has already won two titles. Tsonga, however, had never won a match at Roland Garros prior to this year, so there were questions about his clay-court potential heading into the tournament to go along with minor knee issues. 

Tsonga will enjoy a massive home-court advantage. He already has his French fans completely captivated, and now with Nadal and Djokovic out, the hype over a potential French champion is believable.
