A trio of important matches will take place today from the Sony Ericcson Championships.
Each underdog in the three matches that will be played in Doha today, October 30th, have hope. Here are the three matches with the player that is not favored being the latter in each case.
Elena Dementieva vs Svetlana Kuznetsova
Victoria Azarenka vs Agnieszka Radwanska
Jelena Jankovic vs Caroline Wozniacki
In each match betting the underdog looks like a smart bet.
Caroline Wozniacki has been playing with tons of heart in her two efforts in Doha and she came through with a minor upset victory over Azarenka earlier. Keep in mind that Azarenka beat Jankovic at these championships and it all suggests that it is Wozniacki that is playing the best. With odds of +225 (9/4) with either Sportingbet or Coral, Wozniacki should be called to win her match against Jankovic.
Elena Dementieva vs Svetlana Kuznetsova looks like it could be a very entertaining and well contested match. That being the case it is best to go with the player who has the longest odds and in this case that is Kuznetsova at +200 (2/1) with Sportingbet. Kuznetsova has won 3 of her last 4 matches against Dementieva both overall and on hardcourt and she, Kuznetsova, leads their head to head series 6 to 4.
Radwanska can also be bet at +220 (11/5) with bet365 because she is playing as an alternate. That means she should be fresher than Azarenka, a player that hasn't being doing all that well on tour post-Wimbledon.
If you called all three underdogs in these matches then you could only need one to win to more or less break even on your bets and if two won, you'd be increasing your bankroll.
Our recommendation is to go with Wozniacki and Kuznetsova at the underdog odds provided. Radwanska has a losing record against Azarenka heads up so, even with the extra rest advantage, Radwanska is a tricky pick.
