Janko Tipsarevic (SRB) to beat Ivo Karlovic (CRO) @ 2.95 betfair

Ivo Karlovic has some big wins in his career at the All England Club as he knocked out Lleyton Hewitt in the first round several years back, when Hewitt was the defending champion. A couple years ago Dr. Ivo also bested a couple high seeds en route to an impressive quarterfinal appearance.

However Tipsarevic has more than a fighting chance of beating Karlovic in their first round match at the All England Club. Here's five reasons to back Tipsy to win straight up.

  1. 2011 Davis Cup Winner Tipsarevic reached the final of the AEGON International on the grass courts of Eastbourne last week so he comes into today's match against big serving Croatian Ivo Karlovic fairly hot.
  2. Tipsarevic is ranked 113 places higher than Karlovic as the Serb is at a career high ranking of 30th in the ATP World Rankings.
  3. The Serbian has a better surface, match rating and predicted chance of winning today
  4. 6'10" Croat Karlovic is on a terrible run, losing four of last five in five set matches, seven in a row in Europe, and nine of last ten against big servers. So far this year he has won only 43% of his matches compared with 62% for Tipsarevic.
  5. Tipsarevic succeeded in their most recent head-to-head on the hard-courts of Delray Beach back in February 2011 to level the overall series at 1-1
