Janko Tipsarevic faces Germany's Florian Mayer in the second round of the Swiss Indoors in Basel.
Tipsarevic has been in red hot form recently and after winning the Moscow title and making the final in St Petersburg last week, he's still in the hunt for a place at the ATP World Finals. Tipsarevic narrowly failed to become the first player ever to do the 'Russian double' (winning Moscow and St Petersburg back to back) as Marin Cilic proved too strong in Sunday's final.
With nearest rival Mardy Fish dropping out injured in the first round, Tipsarevic has a great chance to make up some of the ground although he's going to have to produce some more stand out performances.
Mayer is having a superb 2011 season, reaching the top 20 for the first time earlier in the year and he beat Rafael Nadal on the way to the quarters of the Shanghai Masters.
The German won their last tour match 6-3, 6-7(6), 7-6(6) at Rotterdam last year and Tipsarevic knows he'll have his work cut out.
However on a surface this fast, you have to pick the sixth seed to come through and set up a clash against big serving Croatian Ivan Ljubicic.
