Ivo Karlovic made the semifinals at ATP Houston this past week where he fell to eventual champion Ryan Sweeting.
With the result Karlovic earned a substantial chunk of ranking points, at least for a player ranked outside of the top 100.
Karlovic, 32 years old, jumped up 43 spots and he is now ranked 131st in the world with room for growth in the near future.
Karlovic spent a significant part of 2010 injured and as a result he has very ranking points to defend in 2011. Due to that he should be into the top 100 soon, and perhaps even the top 50, as he has some noteworthy recent results, including a quarterfinal appearance at ATP Indian Wells.
