Ivan Ljubicic won Indian Wells 2010 however he could be one-and-done at Indian Wells 2011.
The returning champion has a bye through the first round of this year's event however his second round match-up could be against Juan Martin Del Potro. Should that match take place Del Potro, a recent titlist from Delray Beach, would be favored to win and that result would send Ljubicic crashing downwards in the rankings.
Ljubibic has done little on tour since winning the 2010 Masters shield at Indian Wells and of his 2055 current ranking points, 1000 are tied in directly with his current Indian Wells title.
The 31 year old may soon find himself out of the top 30 on tour with not much reason to be optimistic about a ascending again.
Indian Wells qualifying matches are already underway with the main draw scheduled for March 10th to March 20th.
