Grigor Dimitrov looks great to open his campaign at ATP Newport this week with what should be a win over Brian Dabul.
Grigor Dimitrov is the second seeded player in the ATP Newport event and the Bulgarian is a challenger for the grass court title this week.
Dimitrov will open his efforts at the Campbell's Hall of Fame Championships, a 250 level tournament in Newport, Rhode Island, against the dimunitive Brian Dabul in what will be a first ever meeting between the two players.
Dabul, entering the match ranked 164th to Dimitrov's ranking of 60th, should have all sorts of trouble in the match. Dimitrov is clearly the better talent and the Bulgarian is also seven inches taller than the 5'7" Dabul.
There is not much doubt that Dimitrov should be able to put a strategy together to send Dabul off the court in less than 70 minutes especially since Dabul has been having all kinds of trouble with players ranked outside of the top 100 this season.
Dimitrov is coming in as a heavy
1/8 favorite with bet365 but it would be more shocking than that if he should lose to Dabul (9/2).
