The French team are about to begin their preparations for the Davis Cup final clash against Serbia

The French Davis Cup team are headed to St. Cyprien at the end of the week with the intention of finalising their plans for the Davis Cup final against Serbia. Captain Guy Forget still has some difficult decisions to make regarding the team, though it’s fair to say that his selection headache would make almost any team captain envious.

Gael Monfils, Michael Llodra, Gilles Simon, Richard Gasquet, Arnaud Clement, Julian Benneteau and the injured Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will all travel with Forget. Forget must choose four of these players for the final.  Following last week’s exploits, it seems likely that Gael Monfils and Michael Llodra will be involved, though the other two places could go to any of the remaining players besides Tsonga.

Their Serbian opponents also have a strong team, and have rapidly developed a reputation for performing well in international team events. Novak Djokovic will lead the singles charge, and Nenad Zimonjic will take charge of the doubles effort. Janko Tipsarevic is likely to be the second singles player, whilst Viktor Troicki is expected to complete the line-up.
