Frederico Gil and Gastao Elias will meet on Friday in the quarter-finals of the Buenos Aires ChallengerYou can watch and bet on the ATP Buenos Aires Challenger live for free at bet365 > live tennisFrederico Gil is currently the world No. 99, and a top hundred finish will surely be one of his ambitions for the season. He’s done his chances no harm this week with two straight set victories in the opening rounds. Having beaten Marco Trungelliti, and then Agustin Velotti, Gil will now take on fellow countryman Gastao Elias.
As the sixth seed, this is a big opportunity for Gil to challenge for a challenger title. Other results appear to have worked out favourably for him, as the other three seeds on his side of the draw have crashed out already. Unless we see a surprise contender emerge from the pack, Gil will make it through to the final.
Elias is ranked just inside the top two-hundred, though he has the potential to improve on this at just 20 years-old. He’s had to dig deep for the right to take on Gil, and back-to-back three setters might have taken their toll on him. Elias may prove to be competitive but Gil should have what it takes to continue his title charge on Friday.
