Fernando Gonzalez, the former French Open semifinalist, has not played a match in an ATP event or Grand Slam event since Flushing Meadows 2010 due to a knee injury. Gonzo will, however, begin a comeback soon as Forehando has a Wild Card into the ATP Belgrade draw (April 25th to May 1st).

Gonzalez has a ranking of just 514 at the moment, a far cry from his career high ranking of world number 5. If his fitness level is high enough, he should not have trouble jumping up in leaps and bounds for the next little while as he is a respected clay courter.

Just two years ago the Chilean came within a couple games of making the French Open final as he held a 4-1 lead over Robin Soderling in the fifth set of the 2009 French Open semifinals. Gonzalez squandered that lead, likely his last chance of making another Grand Slam final, however his clay court skills are noteworthy when playing his best.

Gonzalez will face a qualifier in the first round of the tournament and his draw can be viewed here: ATP Belgrade draw.
