Dmitry Tursunov begins his Sarajevo campaign against Holland's Igor Sijsling on Wednesday morning.
Tursunov is probably the smart pick for the title this week. The Russian is seeded fourth and has enjoyed an impressive 2011 to date, winning a challenger in Singapore before pushing Tomas Berdych close in Rotterdam and beating Ivan Ljubicic and Jurgen Melzer on the way to the Marseille semi-finals.
The Russian Davis Cup team may be regretting letting him play no part in the live rubbers over the weekend as their team were beaten by Sweden but Tursunov may soon be an automatic choice again if he continues his current form.
It is hard to see Sijsling testing him. The Dutch player is ranked 156 but he is yet to win a match in 2011 and Tursunov beat him comfortably 6-3, 7-6 in Rotterdam qualifying last month.
Tursunov is seeded to meet top seed Grigor Dimitrov in the semi-finals which could be a fascinating battle between the next big thing in men's tennis and a former top 20 star. Look out for that one later this week.
