The Serb has currently amassed an incredible 64-3 match record, which has enabled him to win ten titles already this year.
Prior to the beginning of the season, the vast majority of tennis pundits had expected Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to be jostling for the top spot, with Djokovic and Andy Murray not too far behind. Djokovic had other ideas though, and after he opened 2011 with 41 straight wins, it seemed like only a matter of time before he was on top of the pile.
Djokovic will be awarded a trophy for finishing the year as the world No. 1 at this year’s Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in November. Djokovic will be competing there for his fifth successive year, and he’ll be aiming to get his hands on the title that he won once previously in 2008.
