Novak Djokovic eased to another straight sets win to move into the last sixteen of the US Open.
Nikolay Davydenko is a former world number three and has been to the semi-finals of this event a couple of times but he was completely outclassed 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 as Djokovic notched up his 60th win of the season.
Djokovic is the main draw at the US Open this year and he did a fine job of wowing the crowds in the night session again with some breathtaking athleticism and shot-making.
"It's the first test I had in this tournament and it was expected," he said. "I was aware of his qualities - Davydenko is a great player. He's been around for many years. He knows how to play on this stadium and he knows how to play majors."
Davydenko's speed around the court was expected to cause the top seed a few problems but Djokovic was quickly into his stride, hitting his spots on the court with pin-point accuracy and once he'd raced to an early 4-1 lead, there was only going to be one winner.
One can only feel for Alexandr Dolgopolov who has the hapless task of being Djokovic's fourth round opponent.
