The French shocked everyone by stunning defending champions Spain 5-0 in the quarter-finals back in July. The Spanish were missing Rafael Nadal but still possessed a super-strong squad with David Ferrer, Fernando Verdasco, Feliciano Lopez and Nicolas Almagro. Argentina have had a much tougher route to the last four, narrowly edging out Sweden and Russia 3-2. David Nalbandian proved the hero for the Argentinians against Russia, winning crucial rubbers against Nikolay Davydenko and Mikhail Youzhny in straight sets.
The French have chosen a fast indoor surface so the Argentinians will be placing their hopes with Nalbandian who has won all of the top indoor titles in the game.
