Top seed Daniela Hantuchova takes on Ajla Tomljanovic in the opening round of WTA Quebec.
Hantuchova comes to Quebec on a high after reaching the US Open doubles semi-finals at the weekend and as the top seed it will take a special effort from someone to stop her claiming a fifth singles title.
She may not longer be a regular contender at the slams but Hantuchova has still enjoyed one of her best seasons in recent years, winning the Pattya City title in February and scoring wins over Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams in the summer.
This could be an interesting first round encounter as Tomljanovic was world number four in the juniors and the 18 year old stormed into the top 200 during her first full season on the tour. However her progress has stalled over the past year and she’s been struggling to make that breakthrough in the WTA events.
Prediction: Hantuchova in two.
