Ana Ivanovic and Alisa Kleybanova will contest the final of the Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions on Sunday

The Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions will conclude in Doha with a match between two unseeded competitors. Ana Ivanovic is up against Alisa Kleybanova, as the pairing completed victories against Kimiko Date-Krumm and Daniela Hantuchova respectively on Saturday.

Ivanovic needed three sets to beat Date-Krumm yesterday, bouncing back from a second set defeat to win the match 7-5, 6-7, 6-2. The former World number one was made to work for her victory against here, and she acknowledged at the end of play that “it was a tough match, physically and mentally”.

Alisa Kleybanova managed to progress to the final in a far more straightforward manner. After going 1-3 down in the first set, Kleybanova fought back in style to take the match 6-3, 6-1 against Daniela Hantuchova. Kleybanova appears to be in great form ahead of this match, and she’s could very well claim the title. Even so, Ivanovic and Kleybanova have a 3-3 head-to-head record, which suggests that this could be anyone’s match.
