Caroline Wozniacki will take on Virginie Razzano on Thursday in the second round of Wimbledon 2011You can watch and bet on the action from Wimbledon at bet365World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki is being touted as something of an outsider for this year’s Wimbledon crown, though her first round battering of Arantxa Parra Santonja (6-2, 6-1) indicates that the Dane might be more competitive than initially thought. Grass isn’t considered to be Wozniacki’s bet surface, but she clearly had no trouble playing here earlier in the week.
Wozniacki’s pre-Wimbledon preparations didn’t involve any competitive grass court tennis, and it will be intriguing to see just how well this strategy works out for her. Whilst this could be interpreted as a fairly disinterested approach to the grass court season, it goes without saying that Wozniacki is determined to challenge for the title.
Wozniacki will face world No. 96 Virginie Razzano in the second round on Thursday, in a match that many people are expecting her to get through in straight sets. Razzano defeated Sania Mirza 7-6, 2-6, 6-3 in round one, in what turned out to be a hard fought battle. Razzano played well against Mirza, but she’s going to need to raise her game even further to test the top seed.
