Caroline Wozniacki plays Victoria Azarenka in the last four of the Toray Pan Pacific Open.

Wozniacki enjoyed an easy path into the semi-finals when sixth seed and close friend Agnieszka Radwanska had to retire at 5-0 down with a foot injury. It was bitterly disappointing for the Pole but she is still hoping to play the China Open next week.

"I was so focused on my own game I didn't pay too much attention to the other side of the net,” Wozniacki said. “I was playing really good tennis and I'm happy to reach the semifinals. It's not going to be easy against Azarenka." 

Azarenka has hit top form this week and she destroyed American teenage hope Coco Vandeweghe 6-2, 6-1 in the quarters. Unfortunately for Vandeweghe she did not have the element of surprise against the eighth seed having played her in an exhibition match in the summer so Azarenka had a well prepared game plan.

These two have played four times in the past couple of years and they are locked at 2-2 on head-to-heads. They have only played once indoors, at the 2009 end of year WTA Championships where Wozniacki edged an epic battle 1-6, 6-4, 7-5.
