The action in this week’s WTA Indian Wells Open will conclude with what promises to be a gripping final between No. 1 seed Caroline Wozniacki and Marion Bartoli of France

Caroline Wozniacki has continued her superb run of results here in Indian Wells, and will now face Marion Bartoli in the singles final. The world No. 1 sealed her place in the final with an outstanding 6-1, 6-2 victory over Maria Sharapova, and appears to be the favourite to clinch this year’s title.

Bartoli also secured a dominant result in the semi-finals, cruising past Yanina Wickmayer in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. She’s performed consistently this week, but was a little fortunate to get past Kim Clijsters in round four by virtue of a retirement. She has the ability to test the Dane, and has more than merited her placement as the fifteenth seed.

Wozniacki currently has a 4-2 head to head record against Bartoli. She won the most recent matchup between the pairing as well, which occurred earlier in the season in Doha (6-1, 6-1). Despite this, it’s worth noting that Bartoli had been on a two-match winning streak against Wozniacki prior to Doha, following successive straight sets victories in 2010 and 2009.
