Caroline Wozniacki takes on Anastasija Sevastova for a place in the Australian Open quarter-finals.

Wozniacki has never been past the fourth round in Melbourne before, losing in straight sets to Na Li at this stage last year. However the top seed has a fantastic opportunity to reach the last eight for the first time against the unseeded Sevastova.

In the last round she banished a few demons, defeating her Sydney conqueror Dominika Cibulkova 6-4, 6-3 but the Slovak still gave her a testing workout, hitting out from the word go and Wozniacki needed all of her renowned defensive skills to withstand the attacking barrage.

Sevastova has been extremely impressive so far, coming through three rounds without dropping a set. Most notably, she took out the 21st seed Yanina Wickmayer 6-4, 6-2 in round two. It's her best Grand Slam performance by some way. After a fine 2010 season which saw her come from nowhere to reach the top 50, the Latvian is definitely a name to watch for in the future.

Wozniacki beat her 6-2, 6-2 in the Fed Cup last February but Sevastova has improved a lot since then. Expect a closer battle but Wozniacki's big match experience should surely see her progress.
