After this convincing win, the top seed will be ready to close in on the title.
Berlocq’s opponent in Friday’s quarter-finals will be Facundo Bagnis. Bagnis is hoping to cause an upset against his compatriot here, and he might well be feeling confident after ousting eighth seed Paul Capdeville in the second round (6-0, 7-5). Whilst Capdeville was very competitive in the second set, Bagnis should be spurred on by the way that he dominated early proceedings.
Berlocq should prevail here, but Bagnis isn’t incapable of upsetting the odds, as we saw against Capdeville. These two Argentines should provide us with an exciting quarter-final showdown. If Bagnis can make a solid start, we could be in for a real battle.
