Igor Andreev was another to achieve his first win of the year on Tuesday at the Brasil Open.

Andreev was another seed who came to this tournament searching for form and he looked very happy to be back on his favourite surface during a 6-2, 6-2 thumping of Potito Starace in just over an hour.

The Brasil Open has not always been a happy hunting ground for Andreev who has played here for the past two years and lost in the first round each time.

As fourth seed he will be hoping for a good run and he is heavy favourite against Portuguese qualifier Rui Machado.

Machado is ranked 124 and generally plys his trade in challengers but he battled through three rounds of qualifying before beating Brazil’s Marcos Daniel 6-3, 7-6 yesterday.

Andreev is 4/11 favourite with bet365 while Machado is 7/3 with bwin.
