Article provides a preview of Sunday's Masters Series 1000 final from Indian Wells between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Online live streaming information is also available.
Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are the finalists at ATP Indian Wells as they both advanced through the semifinals on Saturday. Nadal enters the final, which will be streamed live with
bet365, having defeated Juan Martin Del Potro in the semifinals in straight sets while Djokovic had more of a challenge in his semifinal against Roger Federer, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
Like most top players, Nadal and Djokovic are very familiar with one another's games as they have met twenty-three times on tour. Nadal leads the all-time head-to-head series 16-7 and he has claimed back to back wins over Djokovic in their last two meetings.
On the hard court surface they have met twelve times with Nadal winning just five of those matches as Djokovic has generally gotten the best of Rafa on the cement.
The match from Indian Wells is interesting as it puts the two hard court Grand Slam champions against one another and the winner will gain more supporters for the title: "King of the Hard Courts".
The world number one ranking is not at stake as Nadal's lead in that race is very comfortable at this point and it should be for some time provided he stays healthy. However Djokovic is undefeated in 2011 as he won the Australian Open, he won ATP Dubai, and now he has rattled off a series of wins in Indian Wells.
With that kind of momentum the Serbian star could challenge Nadal by year's end for top spot on tour and with the fifty-two week rollover system that the ATP uses to determine rankings, the Indian Wells final could factor into a ranking change at the top in the longer term.
The Order of Play for Sunday features the women's final first with a start time of 11am PT. The men's final will follow but not before 1pm PT.
