Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray each have challenging opponents to face on Day 8 of the 2011 Australian Open as Nadal will face Marin Cilic while Murray will face Jurgen Melzer.
Cilic and Nadal have met just one time before as the Croat eliminated Nadal from the Beijing 2009 draw. That match took place at a time in Nadal's career when his fitness was below its current level however Cilic could draw some confidence from the result.
Murray and Melzer have met multiple times with the Scot always getting the better of his Austrian counterpart. Heading into Monday's match Murray holds a perfect 4-0 record against Melzer and that will surely give the world number 5 a great deal of confidence.
The two last faced one another in the third round for the 2009 Australian Open and the Scot handed Melzer a quick 7-5, 6-0, 6-3 defeat.
Should Nadal win his match he will face the winner between Milos Raonic and David Ferrer while Robin Soderling is the most probable opponent for the survivor between Murray and Melzer.
